Writing Update/Cover Reveal

Yes, that's right. I'm combining two things in one post. Which actually ended up working out pretty well. Because a cover reveal ties right into my current writing projects. xD

Right now I'm working on A Question of Loyalty, book #3 in my Questions of War series.  (Which is actually the book the cover reveal is for, butttt . . . that'll come later. ;)) It's currently being Alpha read by some amazing ladies, and I've got a bunch of notes and edits and changes that I can't wait to start working on. Though, I have a feeling it's gonna end up a lot longer then it is. Hopefully I can keep it under 95K, though? Here's to hoping! *nods*

Also, I've started working on a few different projects, as well as a short story for this month. I'm currently drafting a contemporary novella, and I'm not sure exactly where that's gonna go yet. I haven't written contemporary before, so it's a new experience! I'm not sure how I like it. It almost seems too easy to write, as there really isn't much research that I need to do.  It's kinda fun at the same time, though. So I'm just gonna go with it and see where it ends up. ;)

As for the short story for this month . . . what do y'all want? I'm thinking something like a modern military short story. With a bit of romance, since it's valentines day. Or I could do a WWII story, that would probably end up bittersweet. Like, I can't write just happy war stories for some reason. (I don't know why. I probably need help.) Those are the only two ideas I have. Sooo if y'all have any suggestions . . . let me know in the comments!

Okay, I've talked enough about writing. Now onto the cover reveal. (By the way, I'm curious... how many of y'all scrolled down here to see the cover first before reading all that^?)

It took my cover designer four or five different tries on a cover before she came up with one I loved. She's amazing and so patient, though. So she stuck with me till the end. ;) She also sent it to me saved as the name of the concentration camp in the book. Because yeah. I forgot what camp my main character ended up at. Anyway. Onto the cover . . .

Isn't it amazing?! And the clock is gonna play a part in the story, so I LOVE how it's made more noticeable by being the 'o' in 'Loyalty'!  I have some lovely ladies joining me in the reveal, so be sure and check out their posts!

Anddd . . .I think that's all for today! Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I waiting to see the cover until after I had read the other part above it. ;) Lovely cover. :)
I think you need to write a HAPPY modern story. Sure you can have military in it. (I'm not sure anyone would believe you wrote it if you didn't have any military in it, but that might be an interesting thing for you to try. A modern story with NO military involved. Could you do it?)

    1. *grins* Thank you!!
And... yes, I have. But it didn't turn out good and it felt like I had forced myself to write it. (which... I had) So I stick with military. xD But yes, I need a happy story. *nods*
